When purchasing a quality candle the best are usually more expensive.
There are so many varieties of candles to choose from, when wanting to buy a good custom candle. Many can be hard to find and may also be very expensive. There are no rules and regulations for these wax items, when it comes to selling and what they contain. Try making handmade ones for yourself with candlemaking ( candlemaking can be fun) or even buy handmade candles through online sites or online stores.
When you buy a good candle online, the best like custom handmade are usually more expensive than the dollar store variety. A good custom candle will liquefy completely for votive and tea lights and will burn evenly for larger ones like pillars. The wick will not contain any form of lead like most do when purchased from dollar stores or are made in China. A quality candle will also have a good scent and color throughout the candle this can be controlled when making your own custom handmade candles while candlemaking and can only be checked after you buy and burn the candle or the online candlemaking company tells you this.
When burning your quality candle always trim wick 1/4 inch before burning, long wicks can cause uneven burning and be sure the wick trimmings and matches are clear before lighting the candle. Use a proper candleholder when burning, in a well-ventilated room with no draft, this will NOT cause it to burn rapidly, unevenly or cause dripping. Never touch a candle while it is burning, extinguish with a snuffer, blowing out will cause wick to move from the center and wax to spill. Never leave unattended and extinguish if flame gets too large. Most manufacturers will have instructions for burning on the package for you to follow, if it doesn't it usually means it's not a good candle to burn. To give you worry free candles try making your own with candle making fun.
