Candlemaking can be fun but first you will need to get some candle supplies before you get started.

Candlemaking can be fun but first you will need to get some candle supplies before you get started. Candlemaking supplies can be purchased through online wholesale supply companies and wholesale candle supply stores and craft stores. If choosing candlemaking for the first time there are various supplies and accessories needed to begin a project. Many find that they have a difficult time finding all the supplies in one place or they have to wait for an order to arrive and not all supplies are available. The best choice to get all your supplies at once would be to choose candle making kits to get you started. Once you have purchased your candle making kits you are able to add various other wholesale items to kits like different wax, color or scent to make more candles.

Your basic candle making supplies would be wax, wick, color, scent or fragrance oil, molds or containers, and various items to make your candle making project easier, thermometer, double boiler, measuring spoon, newspaper for work area and an old spoon for stirring the wax. Once you have these basic supplies and instructions (most of these would be in kits) you are able to begin. Most of these supplies and kits can be found in your kitchen and some will have to be purchased through online wholesale candle supply stores and at many craft supply stores.

Once you have mastered the basic candle making skills you can then add various items to improve the look of your candles. Gel wax will let you add flame resistant embeds to allow you to make sea themed candles. Sand, pebbles, glass figures, glitter, chunks of wax or shapes of wax can also be added to gel. Solid wax can be carved; painted and even dried floral could be placed on the outside of the candles. Many ideas and patterns or recipes for gel and other wax can be found online. Check this site out for more places for many more ideas. Gel can be the most fun to use.
