Pure beeswax has many uses, but the most common is candlemaking.

Pure beeswax has many uses, but the most common is candlemaking. Pure bees wax will come from a bee hive cut from the honeycomb. The light-colored wax is usually the best for candlemaking because it has little or no impurities. The darker wax contains more impurities and more problems will show when trying to burn a candle.

Beeswax candles burn longer, cleanlier and give off more light than other wax candles. Beeswax is a symbol of nature and of the beekeeping hobby. The most elegant candle made, is of bees wax with no artificial coloring or scent.

Beeswax for candle making can come in various shapes and sizes and can be found at most craft stores, candle making suppliers and beekeepers and online through various candle making suppliers and beekeepers. The purest bees wax is light yellow to almost white and is available in chips or solid forms. Another variety of pure beeswax is available in preformed sheets and comes in a large variety of colors. Using preformed sheets can be a very easy candle making project for the beginner and children to make candles.
