Making inexpensive scented jar candles are easier than you think.
Making inexpensive scented jar candles are easier than you think. The most common jar candles are made from paraffin wax but can also be made from gel wax and soy wax and then the proper fragrance oils are added. Candle making jar or container candles are one of the easiest styles to do. Container candles burn beautifully in most any type of container.
Choose glassware with no cracks or chips that are heat resistant, finer glassware will crack with heat, has an opening of about 2-3 inches and is dishwasher safe. Canning jars are the most common glassware but you can also use mugs, teacups and common household glassware. Candle fragrances are also important when purchasing for the first time. Make sure candle fragrance oils are appropriate for the wax that you choose. Each style of wax has a different temperature, so make sure the fragrance oils will withstand the temperature.
Making handmade custom scented candles would allow you to choose any shape of glassware, scent that you like and in any color. A handmade custom gift for a friend, yourself or even start your own business making handmade custom scented jar candles.
