Soy wax candles are non-toxic.

Soy candlemaking can be cheaper than bees wax candlemaking. Soy is a vegetable-based wholesale wax or in other words hydrogenated soybean oil and is non-toxic and burns very cleanly making almost no soot. The soybean oil lowers the melting point of the candle allowing for a cooler burning candle and more scent throw. A soy candle has a longer burn time than a paraffin wax candle and shorter than bees wax candles.

Wholesale soy waxes come in 2 styles flakes and blocks, the flakes are usually easier to use, and are available online or at any wholesale candle supply store. Making a container candle is the best style for soy waxes. Just melt the waxes, add scent and dye and pour into a heat resistant glass container with a wick, let wax become solid and enjoy.

Candlemaking with soy candle wax can be very enjoyable. The clean up is easy, only soap and water is needed. Soy candle making is easy and very safe (low melting point), which will allow you to make candles with children. Soy candles will make a wonderful, unique and healthy gift (much like bees wax) for that special someone.
