100% pure bee wax candles usually come in to general types.
100% pure bee wax candles usually come in two general types- unrefined bee wax and highly filtered bee wax. Bee wax is non-toxic and hypoallergenic. Bee wax also has one of the highest melting points, which will allow a long burn time. Beeswax candles emit negative ions, which helps to cleanse the air. Pure bee wax candles are a very healthy choice for those with respiratory difficulties.
Unrefined bees wax varies in appearance from a dull brown to an almost clear bright yellow and the honey scent can vary from wax to wax. Impurities in waxes will cause problems while burning, the wick will clog, and the flame will weaken and cause tunneling. The larger the diameter of the candle the more problems you will have. Tapers are the best style of candle to use raw bees wax with. When choosing raw bees waxes look for the very lightest yellow and choose a larger wick to burn in your candle, too large can cause a lot of smoking. Sometimes it's just a guessing game. This wholesale beeswax is available from most wholesale honey keepers or online.
Highly filtered bees wax has been cleaned of impurities using a filtration system. The end product is a better bee wax for your candle making project. Unfortunately these waxes have very little or no natural honey scent thus allowing you to add other scent. Filtered beeswax can be white or yellow in color and can be purchased online or at most wholesale candle wax stores.
