Gel Candle Making Kits

If this is your first time attempting the art of gel candle making, you may not have all the supplies you will need. In this case I would purchase a gel candle making kit on line or at any candles supplies store. Gel candle making kits will have all the supplies to get you started with one or two candles or more candles. A candle making kit contains the basic gel candle making supplies: gel wax, containers, the wick and sometimes dye for color. Make sure you read the kit for contents so you can purchase any other supplies you may need.

Gel candlemaking kits won't contain some kitchen tools you may require while gel candlemaking. The pot to melt your wax, a thermometer to check the temperature of the wax, scissors to cut the wick, metal spoons to stir the gel when/if adding scent and dye, a knife to cut/shave dye color buds, metal measuring spoons to measure the scent, and some candlemaking kits do not contain scent oils or color dye.

When purchasing scents oils and dye make sure they are safe for gel wax. Some scent oils will not with stand high temperatures that gel wax needs. Be sure to use metal utensils because wood will react to the gel and cause bubbles. Before starting any candle making project get all supplies prepared before melting the gel wax. It is very helpful for the end cleanup to use newspaper on your working service. Also let the gel cool before attempting to clean up it will peel right off of most surfaces.

Gel candles are very beautiful candles. Enjoy!
