Good custom candles are made the way you like them.

Good custom candles are made the way you like them, when you make custom candles yourself. Adding your own ideas to your candlemaking like color and scent will make these candles one of a kind and a very special gift. You can also add decorations (flame resistant is best) to your candles as well. There are many times when you find a scent you like but it only comes in one color, and of course that color doesn't match your decor. By choosing candlemaking you can pick and choose the color to go with your decor.

When choosing candlemaking you need to decide what type of candle you would like to make. First start by choosing the type of wax you would like your custom candle to be made from. There are many types of wax to choose from: beeswax, soy wax, paraffin wax and gel wax. Next you decide the shape you want. Candles can be molded, rolled, dipped or just as a simple container candle. The wax you choose usually helps you to decide on the shape that is good for that wax- all gel candles need to be in a container and paraffin, beeswax and soy can usually be made in any shape. Now it's time for choosing the color and the scent. There are many scents and color to decide from, to help you with that special room or occasion. Aromatherapy, romantic, relaxing, fruits, baking, whatever you need, you will be able to find on line. Gel and soy wax seems to hold the scent the longest.

Another way to make a custom candle is to add decorations to the candle once it is solid or even during the molding process. These decorations can be various items most will have to be flame resistant. Painting designs on the sides of candles, using dried pressed flowers under a thin layer of wax on the surface only, jewels embedded into the sides of candles are some ideas for a plain candle you have made from paraffin wax, soy wax and even some beeswax. Embeds can also be placed in gel wax candles but these embeds must be flame resistant or made from wax (will melt when burned). There are so many ways to decorate a candle.
